Join us for a full-day excursion to the scenic settlement of Oqaatsut and experience the stillness and grandeur of Greenland’s nature – from the sea, by kayak, and on foot.

We begin the day in Ilulissat, where you'll meet your guide (who will accompany you throughout the day) and be fitted with all the nescessary gear and clothing from the kayak tour in Oqaatsut. From there, we set off on a beautiful one-hour boat journey along the coast and among drifting icebergs. There is time to take in the breathtaking scenery as we sail and begin to feel the anticipation of the adventure ahead.

Upon arrival in Oqaatsut, we go ashore and prepare our kayak experience. After a final safety briefing and introduction, we set off in stable tandem kayaks into the calm bay that embraces the settlement from the northeast. We paddle along impressive mountain faces, enjoying the majestic landscape.

We make landfall at a fjord-side location and enjoy our packed lunched in peaceful surrondings, before continuing our paddle around the bay. After approximately 2,5 hours on the water, we return to Oqaatsut, change out of drysuits, and head out on a guided walk through the settlement. Greenlandic villages carry deep cultural history and offer a unique insight into authentic, modern settlement life.

After a day filled with great adventure out in the wild, we sit down for dinner at the cozy Restaurant H8, located in historic, protected buildings. Here, we enjoy a delicious two-course meal and take time to reflect on the many impressions of the day.

We will end this full day experience with a serene boat ride back to Ilulissat in the soft evening light.
