We begin our journey by sailing from Ilulissat, passing the stunning, drifting icebergs of the Ilulissat Icefjord as they make their way north of the city.

Upon arrival in Oqaatsut, our guide will welcome you and take you on a tour of the settlement. You’ll learn about the rich history of Oqaatsut and get an insight into the daily life here.

After the guided walk through the settlement, you’ll have some free time to explore the surrounding nature. Oqaatsut is dotted with scenic viewpoints and benches, perfect for soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking landscapes.

The exploration of Oqaatsut concludes at Restaurant H8 Explorer, where a delicious three-course dinner will be served. Located in historic buildings with panoramic views of the bay, the restaurant offers a menu crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious, reflecting the spirit of Oqaatsut itself.

After dinner, the boat will take you back to Ilulissat, providing a memorable evening tour with the soft glow of the setting sun—an ideal way to end your visit to Oqaatsut.

The dinner is a set menu. If you have allergies or other dietary restrictions, please inform us beforehand on ilulissat@aac.gl so we are able to take it into account.
Drinks are not included in the tour.

In Oqaatsut, there are no sewage systems or running water. As a result, there are bag toilets throughout the settlement, and all water is manually fetched from the town’s water stations. The water is drinkable and tastes fantastic.

There are no established roads in the settlement, so getting around is done via trails on the hillside. This means that the terrain can be somewhat uneven in certain areas, although not alarmingly so.

The settlement is equipped with a pontoon bridge located right in front of the restaurant. This is where we disembark upon arrival and reboard when we are ready to return. In rare cases, it may be necessary to use the settlement's harbor, which, depending on the tide, requires stepping from the boat onto a few steps up a staircase on the pier. The crew onboard and the guides will, of course, assist and ensure everything is done safely. However, we recommend that participants have good mobility to join this tour.

There is a toilet, heated cabin, and outdoor deck on the boat. The maximum capacity is 12 passengers per boat.
