Join us for a daytrip to the breathtaking, quiet and undisturbed settlement Oqaatsut only 20 kilometers north of Ilulissat combined with a lovely lunch in amazing surroundings

We begin the tour by sailing from Ilulissat to Oqaatsut - a journey of about 60 minutes among the icebergs that has torn itself loose from the Icefjord and are now gently drifting north of the town. Upon arrival in Oqaatsut, we will disembark the boat, and be accompanied to Restaurant H8 Explorer. The first stop in the settlement is lunch! Made from fish and meat from the Greenlandic mountains and sea, served with view of the bay in cozy Restaurant H8.

Restaurant H8 lies in historic buildings which dates back to the 1890s. The buildings have been used for decades by Royal Greenlandic Trade Department, which played a crucial role in the survival and development of towns and settlements across Greenland. For the past 25 years, the buildings have been used as a restaurant frequented by locals and tourists from all over the world.

After lunch, we will explore the settlement on a guided walk. We will learn of the settlements history, the most significant places, and gain insight into life in a local community like Oqaatsut's.
The settlement is located beautifully by the Disko Bay, and you will find many scenic spots throughout the area where you can enjoy the incredible views.

Our tour ends with a boat ride back to Ilulissat along the shoreline with towering mountains on one side, and the floating icebergs on the other.
