On this hike, we follow the blue trail in the UNESCO area through the beautiful landscape behind Ilulissat and along the incredible Icefjord. We will pass stunning lakes, mountains, and the historical Sermermiut

The Blue Trail is one of the most scenic routes in Ilulissat. Most of the trail follows the shoreline of the Icefjord, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site*. Along the way, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views of majestic icebergs and pass numerous stunning viewpoints.

Our hike begins at the old stone quarry and leads us through a long canyon before we enter the beautiful mountainous area behind Ilulissat. From there, we’ll pass a serene lake and continue toward the open landscape alongside the Icefjord. During the hike, we’ll take time to stop at many scenic spots, enjoy coffee breaks when needed, and soak in the silence and raw, untouched beauty of the Arctic nature.

We’ll also visit the historic site of Sermermiut, once home to Inuit people for more than 4,000 years. The hike ends at the old heliport, where a bus will be waiting to take us back.

*To enter the UNESCO area from 1st of June to 31st of October you must purchase a ticket online at https://kangia.gl/besoeg-isfjorden/site-fee?sc_lang=en or on the site before entering.
