Snowshoeing adventure

The Ilulissat Icefjord is as beautiful as it is inaccessible in the middle of the Arctic winter. Take this unique opportunity and join our guided hike with snowshoes and ski poles to explore remote spots with unbeatable scenery.

Discover the incredible Ilulissat Icefjord during winter, as we cross snow-filled valleys and walk in between mountains, before we hike along the icefjord itself, a UNESCO world heritage site. Snowshoes and ski poles are are great for adventures during winter and will make this fascinating scenery accessible for us.

Our experienced guides will choose the route with the best viewpoints for sightseeing and pictures, manage the route according to weather conditions, and explain about the flora and fauna, as well as share stories of Greenland and its inhabitants.

Experience the UNESCO site by snow shoe

As we put our feet in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will ascend between walls covered with snow and ice, enjoy the magnified panorama of the “dogs sledge highway”, experience frozen lakes and rivers, as well as shiny icebergs shining.

Here after we will continue to the old settlement of Sermermiut, where the first Inuit people arrived 4000 years ago.

*No previous experience is required, but a minimum level of fitness is strongly recommended. Anyone used to hiking or other sports can learn how to move in winter terrain with snowshoes and ski poles.

** The usage of snowshoes and ski poles is weather dependant. Sometimes the firmness of the snow makes wearing snowshoes an inconvenience in which case we won't wear them.

Note: Due to unpredictable weather conditions during winter, the itinerary of this tour is subject to change. While it is our goal to deliver the best tour experience possible, the safety of our clients is always our first priority.
